What a mailed camera notice is
A mailed camera notice is typically sent to the registered owner with photos. It is not the same document as an officer-issued speeding ticket (often a DMV or traffic-court moving violation), and it is not the same as a parking ticket about how or where a vehicle was left standing. Some cities call it a Notice of Liability; others use a different name. Confirm what your paper says.
Look at the paper:
- Was it mailed later with photos, or handed to the driver by an officer?
- Does it say Notice of Liability, or citation / summons / traffic ticket?
- Does it name a city finance department or camera program — or a state DMV, traffic court, or municipal court?
- Is a photo or video website printed on it?
Fines, points, courts, and answer methods are jurisdiction-specific. This page does not invent a nationwide camera fine, point total, or deadline. Do not assume camera notices never add points.
